Derek Ralston
Investment Advisor Representative
Derek Ralston began his career at Aon Risk Services, Inc., New York, working for private equity clients such as Apollo, Bain Capital and Clayton Dublier & Rice. Mr. Ralston helped establish unsecured bond underwriting programs for highly leveraged companies with little operating history.
In 2000, he accepted a position with Trade Manage, LLC a northern NJ regional financial brokerage firm. The firm’s principal niche was order execution and Mr. Ralston served on the trading desk working customer orders, analyzing stock movements for best price execution and providing clients with market insight. Over time he worked closely with the CEO and multiple high-net worth clients, and was later appointed Vice President of Business Development.
In 2002, with two partners, he joined Celadon Financial Group, a boutique firm in Chatham, NJ. Mr. Ralston concentrated on handling high-net worth and institutional clientele, both advising and trading for them in equities, options and certain fixed-income products. In 2009, while working at Celadon, he also helped form an investment fund and worked in tandem with the principal through its inception and the management of its portfolio.
In the summer of 2011, Mr. Ralston was introduced to Income & Asset Advisory, Inc. and after meeting with its President, James P. McCauley Jr., he began working with the firm in September 2011.
Mr. Ralston holds a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in English from Binghamton University, NY. He currently resides in northern Bergen County, NJ.
